Hello my name is Jeroen, how nice of you to drop by.

Right from the start (end of 2007) I really got into Flickr. For me it’s a great way to express myself, to be creative (or at least try to be), and (more important) to get feedback from fellow photographers from all over the world.

Flickr stimulated me to look at the world as if I did it for the first time. I began taking pictures of new subjects such as clouds and trees.

Very quickly my daughter Roos became my favourite model. I was very proud of her and not afraid to show it. She didn't mind because these were the pré-Facebook-days. The chances of one of her friends finding and seeing these entries came down to zero.

In the summer of 2014, on her way to the Kruger Park in South Africa, the mini-van in which she travelled got caught up in a traffic accident. Roos was fatally injured and died a few days later. We were at her bedsite when this happened.

For me, one way of dealing with the loss and the grief was to start a special website for our daughter. You can find it here: www.flickr.com/roosprins
