I live in Denver, where I have easy access to the mountains. My house is just blocks from the Denver Botanic Gardens, where I can go regularly to watch how flowers change throughout the seasons. I also travel a lot, and enjoy exploring new and familiar places around the world with my camera.

Photography can both document something very similar to what the eye sees and create something that only approximates that reality. I am fascinated with images that somehow manage to combine the real and the imagined: long exposure shots, which blur and smooth; macros, which show things at a scale we don't usually see; large aperture shots, which blur the background. I try to present photos that are at once real yet altered by camera technique.

I also like to document the beauty around us. Primarily of nature, but also of the cities around the world I've been lucky enough to visit.
