I was born in Funchal, Madeira Island- Portugal where I still live.

 

Collecting postcards of passenger’s ships is one of my preferred hobbies !

 

In fact i start collecting postcards a long time ago. I actually followed the steps of my grandfather who was a great collector as well in the past.

 

As time was going by and thanks to my job related with shipping (what a coincidence !!!) it has been easy to improve my collection very often with help of some friends of mine, some ship owners, companies but also sometimes buying some postcards when it is necessary.

 

I have a huge collection of ship's postcards and same is growing almost “everyday”.

 

Last time i tried to make a computer database information with all ships whose postcards i already have in my collection, i noticed that same was already consisting in colored postcards of over than 2600 different cruise ships and liners (some ferries !) from the present and from the past.

 

I really meant postcards of over than 2600 different ships not 2600 postcards of different ships.

 

This page is devoted to ship’s postcards and it’s purpose is just to make an archive of image galleries, showing colored postcards and eventually some photographs, leaflets or cards ( when postcards are not available) of ocean liners, cruise ships and some ferries belonging to my collection.

 

Same was done under request of some friends collectors and ship’s enthusiasts from all over the World.

 

Another (and very important) purpose of this page is to find somebody else who share the same interest as I do in order do develop our common interest by swapping postcards.

 

I have a long list of ships whose postcards I still am looking for.
