I love taking pictures of everything and anything, particularly candid moments. I feel compelled to do so, though I have no real reason as to why. I guess a lot of it is because, as a nanny, I've realized how fleeting moments can be. It seems like you can turn around and that chubby, almost awkward looking baby is somehow in the third grade and winning city championships in his sport of choice. Or, you can grow so attached to someone who won't even remember you in a few years (or months), so you want to remember every moment you have with them. And, with so many memories and moments to hold on to, it seems like pictures are the only viable way to ensure the remembrance.
I used to only take pictures of people I knew; then only take pictures of people in general. Now, I find myself taking pictures of everything that strikes my interest or that I want to remember. All those moments that would otherwise compete with, and probably lose to, all the memories of my "children" (of which I've had 22 in the past 8 years, so you can imagine how crowded it can be).
I also love adventures, though I'll admit I don't take them as often as I would like. When appropriate, I take my camera along, so you may find pictures of those. However, I'm broke, so I have yet to buy protective cases that would allow me to take my camera on true adventure days (which usually include unknown depths of water, precarious climbing, and other not so camera safe activities.
From time to time, you may see a string of food photos show up on the page. I have a food blog and attempt to keep up with it, though a lack of money does make that challenging, especially since I don't have the correct gear to take the shots I wish I could. Ah well, I'm still young. I have plenty of time to grow my collection of gear and perfect my shots.
