I am Australian and have been living in South America since 1993 during time which I have learned to weave many kinds of complementary and supplementary warp-faced techniques on staked-out ground looms, vertical frame looms and on my favorite loom of all, the backstrap loom. My travels have taken me around Bolivia, to Peru, Chile-where I lived for 5 years-and Ecuador. Most recently I went to Guatemala where I learned supplementary weft patterning. I have studied with refugee backstrap weavers in the US from Vietnam and Burma.

I have written two books about some if the weaving structures that I have studied. Both are available as e-books on patternfish.com.

I live in Santa Cruz, Bolivia and travel to teach backstrap weaving workshops to groups and individuals outside South America, as well as lecture and teach at weaving guilds and international conferences.
