I haven't known Larry very long, he's a "new-comer," at least when compared to me, but we struck up a Flickr friendship based on a mutual admiration of one another's photos. He is very generous with his comments. Larry is almost my opposite in everything but our love of B&W film. He's medium format, mostly (although I may have turned him over to the "dark side" of 35mm) - he excels at portraits, making people look interesting, he is studied and careful, using a lot of studio lighting for his shots. He even tried to teach me how it's done. A hopeless enterprise. What got to me were his portraits of "Grace" that are by no means "glamor" shots, but rather lovely photos that show the humanity of the model. All her faults are there, but you just love what it is he's captured - in the eyes - all done with lighting, with posture and probably his interaction with the model. His portrait that strikes me as one of his loveliest he titled "candid." It is a blurred, fluid, soft image that captures as the femininity of Grace, (all her "grace") with her attention turned elsewhere, her body in blurred motion, this is perhaps the most powerful images he has of her. But the entire set is good. Take a look. My only complaint is that he is stingy with his postings and has not nearly enough photos in his stream. I want to see more.

I guess a lousy photographer like him must compensate in some way. He also has questionable morals by posting pictures of models (which he ruins by horrible technique). In summary, SomebodyStopMe is a discredit to all photographers, the human race in general, and to his unmarried parents.
