I'm that object in your mirror that is closer than I appear.
Okay, I'll say it straight out so that there's no confusion later on. I am not a photographer and I doubt that truly I'll ever be one in the strictest definition of what a photographer should be by the acceptance of the majority. I am here basically because my significant other is wild about photography and I am wild about her. So I take my cheap little point and shoot and go out with her on weekends and other odd occasions because I would rather be there with her than wasting away on a couch watching TV. What I do like about doing this with her is that I can take the otherwise mundane photos I take and have fun with post processing to make them something more me or more than they are. I'd like to think that my best quality is a boundless sense of humor. Humor that often resides "tongue-in-cheek" and sometimes crosses over into the sarcastic. When I comment on someone's Flickr photo it generally means I like something about that photo. My comments are rarely in the form of photographic critiques concerning methods, techniques or style. They will more often contain a comment meant to be funny within the line of commentary for that posting. If I ever do make a suggestion, it will be based solely on my personal reactions or preferences, which I have stated is not grounded in my own photographic skills, or more to the point, the lack thereof. I do not trade comments just to trade comments as if there is an unspoken contract between contacts. I don't expect anyone to comment on mine unless that person wants to. I am not here to chase awards or explore. If a photo moves me in some way, I will comment. If it doesn't I won't... and that is about as simple as I can make it. So please don't add me to your contacts list just to inflate your contact numbers... personally I believe in the power of quality over quantity. I'd much rather be in a league of a few good friends, than be lost in a sea of faceless avatars.
