Worked with camera in hand several years ago as a freelance photo assistant in Boston. Assisted for editorial (my favorite), architectural, portrait, product, sports, food, and fine-art photographers for three years or so. Became disillusioned with the schmoozing side of the profession, as well as the necessity to kiss the asses of twenty-something, know-nothing art directors. Moved to Kansas City and couldn't find enough work to sustain me, so I was forced to move out of the profession. Now I can shoot what I want, when I want, and the passion has returned. I'll always be amazed by the unique ability of the medium to freeze a unique moment in time for all eternity (or at least until the print or neg. breaks down!).
