My name is Vanessa and I live in Olympia, Washington with my husband and our adorable Golden Retriever named Rome. I am generally an optimistic individual with simple hopes, aspirations and intentions. I have always loved food. I haven’t always loved making food. I was a child of Cheetos, Oreos and Velveeta Cheese. My culinary adventure was putting frozen baby shrimp and raw eggs in Top Ramen. Then I grew up, lived on my own and began learning about how food is bought, sold, processed and delivered to our bodies. It drastically changed my relationship with food. What I cooked and put in my body began to morph into a relationship that I honor. Food became an item I had always known but never took the time to really experience. It has always been my deepest passion to connect with others. This site is just the beginning of the sharing I hope to do involving my love of creating and consuming food.
