I retired in 2011. I spent my first 10 working years as a Biomedical Scientist specialising in microbiology. The next 10 years were spent making products for disease diagnosis eg AIDs and Hepatitis.

My last 20 or so working years were as a Management Accountant. So, a fairly varied career I guess. I had always had an interest in birds but didnt take up bird watching until the late 1990s. I soon started photographing the birds I saw with whatever cheap camera I had at the time and then realised a lot of people were getting much better photos than me. Around the year 2000 I took the plunge and bought my first DLSR and big lens. Ive bought a few more since then !
