I can't defend photography. Anyone can take an amazing picture. Real talent rarely speaks for its author, except through perseverance and repeated instances of brilliance. That's because the greatest photos, when they're truly great, they speak for themselves, and they say, "Hey, look at me! I'm a great photo!!... and that guy behind the camera, oh he just got lucky."
