I have been enjoying amateur nature and wildlife photography for the past few years now, but I'm far from being a professional.
I am somewhat restricted in how far I can go in regard to seeking out wildlife due to health problems, I have a form of cancer called myeloma which affects the bone marrow. I had a tumour removed from my spine in 2011 so movement can be quite difficult, therefore most of my photos are now predominantly taken in my small garden.
Since moving in just before Christmas 2009 I am proud to say that I have attracted 28 species of bird to my garden, most of which I have managed to photograph. I consider my feathered visitors as friends, and really enjoy being in their company, with or without camera! My rarest bird capture to date (not in my garden!) was an Osprey down by the Teme River.

I'm sorry to tell you folks, but Judy (my mum) has passed away on 6/1/2014. After battling her multiple myeloma cancer so well for so long, just after Christmas she got a chest infection so they put her in hospital as a precaution. After a week, she was better so they sent her home. Driving through the Welsh countryside (quite a distance from the hospital to her home), she suffered a major heart attack from which she never regained consciousness. She would want anybody that feels compelled to send flowers or gifts to her funeral to instead donate to your local multiple myaloma research charity. Judy took took her cancer as an opportunity to advance the science of diagnosis, prevention and treatment, and volunteered for all the available studies in the hope that one day others might be spared the same suffering.
