Longtime photographer -- doing it seriously since about 1966. Photojournalism major at San Jose State U. Twenty years (1975 - 1995) in U.S. Coast Guard. Then -- over 22 years doing communications; emergency management response, planning and exercising; and infrastructure risk management (!?!), and county/federal/consulting. Now retired in Southern Oregon.

"Journalism gives you an excuse for being curious. Photojournalism gives you an excuse for being nosy."

These days I'm primarily shooting with Fujifilm X-Series (two X-T5s and an X-E3). I recently picked up a Leica D-Lux 8 for a more light weight travel option.

I'm doing a lot more shooting in B&W, using Fuji's Acros simulation mode, but also saving RAW files. I've found an interest in shooting railroad-related themes, but not the typical photos of locomotives. More interesting to me is the rail infrastructure, how that infrastructure relates to its surroundings and environment, the experience of rail transportation (passenger, heavy rail transit, and light rail transit), and how the world looks from the train. I've also been looking around at some of my older rail-themed photos that can be "updated" to B&W.

I hope to some shooting with a Century Graphic (same model camera as the first "real" camera I ever used) and a couple of pinhole cameras.
