My home overlooks St. Mary's Bay (Baie Ste-Marie) in southwest Nova Scotia and there are still days when I can hardly believe my good fortune, being here. It's so elemental, so beautiful. Water, sky, light, they're always changing, often from minute to minute. I spend a lot of time just looking.

Most of my photography happens very close to home. Simple things catch my eye: a cloud, a shadow, light striking something in an unusual way. For some time now I've been drawn to photo impressionism, using things like intentional camera movement and Photoshop filters to try and express the 'feeling' of things I see. I also like abstract images. But, that said, I do seem to be taking a lot of documentary shots of St. Mary's Bay, and WAY too many sunsets!

There's probably enough right here in Nova Scotia to keep me & my camera happily occupied for the rest of my days.

(Feedback & faves always much appreciated and I will try to reciprocate. But since this IS a photo sharing community, if you comment on or fave one of my photos and I visit your photostream only to find you have no photos available to me, you will be blocked... sorry.)
