To seek the light of truth; while truth the while

Doth falsely blind the eyesight of his look.

Light, seeking light, doth light of light beguile;

Love's Labours Lost, by William Shakespeare, c. 1598

spiritual seekers and visionary creatives (artists, writers, musicians, etc).... tend to see beauty where others ... [do not]. They find the divine in the simplest aspects of nature. ....The questioning of authority, the self-doubts, the loneliness, the confusion, the creative fluids that must be acknowledged lest they tear you apart, the appreciation of the simplest things, and those fleeting moments of oneness with everything.

Author/Photographer - Fading Toward Enlightenment

"Stark, ascetic, straightforward, subliminally-complicated, tending toward the snapshot, esoteric, ecclectic, comedic, or downright bizarre," is how I would describe my own aesthetic vision. cf. Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, Allen Ginsberg, Yoko Ono, Stuart Davis

Aeons ago, when I first discovered avant-garde photography, and then later when I found that I, too, could capture on film an image that resonated with something deep inside me, a reflection, an inner connection, I felt an ineffable thrill -- images of a willow tree drenched in rain on a foggy evening, an old brick building bathed in sunlight, a weed growing up through a crack in the sidewalk, broken glass in an alley, junk at a construction site, a rusty part of a bicycle leaning against a wall, a boat at anchor. cf. Atget

These images inspired me, though sometimes disturbed others. Maybe I heard discordant jazz playing in my head while I took these photos. Because I lived in a TREStres bohemiam part of a large city, the discordant jazz, or badly played Chopin, might actually have been coming down the stairwell or through the window as I shot. The trolley's shrill braking added frisson, cf. John Addams

Most of my photos of those times have been lost, and I now seem more attracted to natural beauty, transience and complexity; complexity, even complex simplicity, e.g., minimalism, is actually the whole thing, yes? cf. Henry David Thoreau

Since the universe sometimes appears as improvised simultaneity, all vibrations can be considered music, to paraphrase the philosopher/composer/artist. Other people might say, "Sounds you don't like are noise." Still others will just say, "Turn it down!" or "Stop banging on the piano!" cf. John Cage

As a visually-inspired writer-artist-musician, I think the same can be said of images, which are captured light vibrations. Could all images be beautiful? Let me know what you think, cf. Andy Warhol.

While getting my degree in applied social-psychology, I had an epiphany, that everything we do (or think, or like) is a reflection of our inner nature or psychological structural dynamic, cf. Carl Jung

Thanks for reading all the way down to here. I hope you are enjoying a really great life! cf. Baba Ramdass

My prayer is for peace, prosperity and joy for every living being in the universe. I pray for beings in other galaxies as well, because they are out there living their lives, wriggling away as much as we are here, and who knows? Maybe things are better there. Maybe not. Maybe they are praying for us, too. cf. Robert Silverbeg, Arthur C. Clarke

Technical connection: My first 35mm was a loaner Technica from a very thoughtful, divine girlfriend; my first SLR a Fuji ST-701, preceded my second, a Nikon F8 movie camera, and my third, a Nikon EM; then I transitioned through travel-ready Olympus clams.

I no longer use film (though I may upload a few recentish shots taken in the last few years) nor an SLR, and am making the transition to digital point-and-shoot, so bear with me. I do have a camera I love when it operates, a Samsung Digimax D850, bought on sale two birthdays ago, quellle camera! I once had a very early Sony DSLR, which was awesome, but the "slings and arrows of outrageous fortune" being many, I haven't seen it for years. I once used a Logitech webcam and then for years a Nikon E2200 and loved it, great lens. Sometimes I use a friend's Panasonic Lumix, sans Leica lens, but an amazing camera. As a young person, the Kodak Bownie and Instamatics were my staples.
