I'm a retired model maker and sign painter, with interest in trams and buses. I have WY in the veins as I worked for WY for 3 years in the 60s and my father was DTS at Bradford in the 60s and 70s. Over the past 25 years I have scratch built models of most of the WY bus types. I take a 7mm. tram layout round to exhibitions and it seems particularly popular with youngsters and nostalgic adults. I always wish I had been able to preserve a bus when the LL types were being withdrawn. I have never had the opportunity to drive a bus, so really admire people who can. Models are a poor substitute for this and I get enjoyment from seeing bus types come to 3D again many years after they have vanished from the scene. .
