Reed Woodside Allen is a Photographer, Musician, Graphic Artist, and proud father living in Southern Maine. Raised on an old farm in foothills of Western Maine, he has been taking photographs and making videos since youth. Allen’s life work focuses on the beauty of this Universe from the smallest blade of grass to the mountains to the stars. Part of his mission is to help people remember their innate connection to themselves and to this Earth. Additionally help the human race through these times of change through photography. Reed is very drawn to light and finding new ways of how to capture light through a camera lens. He likes to think of his camera, as a camera, but also a brush to paint light with and an extension of his intuitive mind. Photography is a meditational practice for Reed.

Reed Allen has a BA in Studio Art: Photography (Magna Cum Laude) and his work has been published in Portland Magazine. In December 2010, his work was fully featured in a book titled A Vibrant Light featuring poems, mantras, and prayers by internationally known spiritual healer, psychic medium, and channeler, Sarah Winslow. He has collaborated on two exhibitions with fellow artist Edwige Charlot entitled fREsh juice. Their first fresh juice show came to fruition in December of 2009 at the Free Street Gallery in Portland, Maine. Their second installation ended in February 2010 at the Isaac Dyer Gallery in Gorham, Maine. Allen has also contributed to Psychogeography at the Open Concepts Gallery in Portland, Maine in December 2009. Additionally, he has had selected works up at the Two Point Gallery in Portland, Maine.

As written in A Vibrant Light “Reed’s work is a warm and receptive look at this world through the lens of gratitude and profound awe for its beauty. He is a gentle and vibrant spirit whose work and life’s mission will lend a great deal of joy to this world.”
