I live in the old house in the rural countryside of southern Finland. I am here with my loving family and dead rats. I work in the attic and sometimes found stuff lost in there. When I listen to my recordings I sometimes hear a gull or some small nightly songbird. Usually just passing cars on a distant highway.
We are sparrows.
I am a father, musician, poet, artist and a bum. I'm a lover not a fighter, bleedingheart and an aging hippie, well not so old yet but sometimes my bones feel like the old wood in this house.
I have always loved computers as a tool to realize ones dreams. In theory I could work in IT.
I started photography as a child when my mother let me use her SLR to take family pictures. It was a Minolta SRT100b with MC Rokkor PF 50mm f/2. World seemed better on groundglass. It was an easy way to edit myself out of the pictures before photoshop.
It took awhile till I realized I can shoot anything. I was never real photographer, I just loved them pictures.
Then years went by and my interested moved to other directions, and for many years I didn't even have a camera. I just loaned that old Minolta from time to time. To the point that my mother finally gave it to me. With few lenses I started my photographic journey again, filming my family and small things.
In this new millennium I moved to digital photography with Minolta dimage Z10. It was easy to use and it gave enough control to photographer. I used it quite a lot and somehow my SLR became neglected. Being on a tight budget, I rather shooted free ones and zeroes.
Point-and-shoot digital was handy with digital art that I made at the time but I yearned for the quality of old days. I always used to dream about the perfect system where I could use my manual Rokkors with full manual digital body. Knowing that Minolta SR bayonet (MC/MD) was incompatible with every other SLR system I just kept on dreaming.
Then one day I heard about digitalrokkor and I was in heaven.
Now I have Canon EOS 30d with new EOS to MD mount and focusing screen from old Minolta SLR.
