I live at the New Jersey shore, although no where as close to the ocean as before Superstorm Sandy in 2012. Many of my photos try to reflect life at the seashore, while sports, street candids, and events are other genres I enjoy shooting.

As a quick sampler of my photos, I have albums called "My Best (?) Shots." None of those albums has more than 25 images, so in slideshow mode each can be viewed in about 2 and 1/2 minutes. A few of the images in those albums will be rated moderate, so to see all of the photos you must be logged into Flickr and your safe viewing filter must be set to moderate or turned off.

On Flickr for over 13 years, and with a Pro subscription for almost all of that time, I have had a number of ups and downs with the website. Far-too-frequent technical problems, "mass faving," and the owner's tolerance of non-photographers who only use the site to collect what they consider to be pornography, used to be my biggest peeves. My number one complaint, however, has now changed.

The vast majority of my photos include people. In September. 2021 Flickr had threatened to delete my account, so I had removed most of my images and dropped down to a free account. Please see the description and comments to my photo "Beach Volleyball 7-31-21 (48)" (www.flickr.com/photos/36285585@N06/51543123765/in/datepos...) for details. I still have heard nothing from Flickr in regards to my appeal.

My current plans are to eventually re-upload some of the approximately 3,300 photos I had taken down. Those uploads will be mostly images I considered to be among my better efforts. Before removing my photos, I had uploaded 3,702 images. Those photos had garnered slightly over 34 million views over the years.

As before, I check the accounts of anyone who favorites any of my photos or follows me. I block those who I feel are only on Flickr to collect what they consider to be pornography. I include "sports girl" fetishes with porn. Consequently, do not fave my photos if you are on Flickr for non-photographic reasons. I also tend to block "mass favers." Mass favers are those who use computer scripts to favorite hundreds, and even thousands of photos at rate of up to 1 every 2 seconds. Obviously, they don't even look at the photos they fave. Also, do not hot link or post my photos to other websites (including Tumblr and Pinterest) without my permission.

It is wonderful to see through his eyes - to look at people and places and see reflected there our common human condition. I grew up in a beach town. Growing up day to day in relationship to the ocean and to other people also in relationship to the beach and the ocean is a special privilege. In storm and hurricane - dark and light - vacation, down time or day to day living, taxref shows us a world. Browse his sets - always interesting faces and places.
