I don't know Larry Bell personally. Though when on a few occassions, I have asked him about details of some of photographs, he has always been open and forthcoming in his emails.. Larry doesn't have many contacts (That doesn't appear to be his motivation) or followers for that matter. What Larry does possess is an uncompromising approach to his purpose, which seems to be though unstated, to document cemetaries and out of the way historical places. And that he does very well. Larry Bell is single - handedly creating an archive of places that I believe will one day deemed significant and useful to those who want to preserve our past.. Not only is he thorough, but the craft of his photographs suggest the work of a fine photographer.
