I live on the edge of the English Lake District not far from Ullswater. Many of my images come from within a few miles of home.
I went through all the stages, black and white darkroom prints, colour transparencies, scanned film, but I am now totally digital.
I enjoy using Photoshop to get the best out of my images, but, in the end, it is just a tool and I don't want to be dominated by it. I still believe in doing everything possible, including thinking about how the image will be cropped, to create what I want at the taking stage. If I get a good image, then I think it deserves every effort I can make to present it in the best possible way, and that, for me, is the role of Photoshop.
I do, quite often, try to make helpful and constructive suggestions about other peoples images. Please don't be offended by this; it is just my way of trying to be helpful, in recognition of all the advice which I have received from other photographers in the past.
