A grumpy old man, in his 80's who does not wish to join any groups, with a sense of humour, a bus pass and a Canon DSLR (Nikon owners, will say I lack judgement)

A retired professional electronics engineer, who was borne too soon.

I strive for perfection in my photography, but seldom achieve my aims; I'm also interested in computing.

Originally, I stem from Manchester, but moved to Wirral (Pensby & Heswall), in Cheshire, during WWII, but now I live in Suffolk, UK

I would be most grateful if you would refrain from posting Group, or your own images on my stream

Testimonials

Brian is always one of the first to comment on my photos, for that I will always be grateful. I can't always get to visit or comment on his photos as often as I'd like - something called work sadly gets in my way - but I always head for his photos when I get time to see all the lovely historic images that he has.

You have many great images, and technically high quality too. Congratulations on a great collection.

I always look forward to seeing Brian's well considered images of the sparsely populated English countryside. The style of his images contain what I consider to be a 'hard process' - an approach that is apt for his style of architectural photography. This approach is linked to his attempts to reveal all of the detail in historical buildings. Brian's frequent subject matter of choice - architectural subjects set against well detailed partially clouded skies - present a compelling advert for the value of our English heritage. He claims to be grumpy, but I disagree with that. I know that he moaned about the lack of rain for his garden back in 2018, but I think he had a valid reason to complain about that! His informative narratives provide a fascinating insight into the history behind his images and really bring them to life. Brian is a highly valued contact.

Brian's photostream display some of the most professional and diverse images on Flickr. I always look forward to his posts and learn something in the process with his informative commentary. He doesn't merely exhibit pictures, but conveys a place, a mood, an experience. There is a wonderful personal touch to his photostream. You get a sense of who he is through his images. Not a more delightful and loyal contact on Flickr than Brian. It has been a pleasure getting to know his world and something about the man behind the camera.
