Ex Royal Navy, ex service engineer but always an avid reader, especially history, avid photographer and love to get out into the open air, seaside or hills. Gorgeous wife and two sons whom I dote on. I also love viewing other peoples photography whether it be National Geographic or Flickr, some of which is astoundingly good. I recently discovered Skittzitilby on Flickr and have spent the last week (25/02/09) trawling through all her wonderful pics. This lady should be exhibiting in London, New York and, as a Barrovian pal of mine says, Barrah. Through Skittzitilby I have found inspiration and discovered all her contacts into the bargain. I shall peruse them as well. Also Des Brady from my area who has his own website. All of which is a very inspirational, wonderful journey and a privilege to view so many brilliant images emanating from my own surroundings, The Lake District. I am originally from Bradford, Yorkshire where we too have so much beautiful scenery and history but then that's true of anywhere in The British Isles and, indeed, the world. The World Is Your Oyster was the maxim when I was young. I managed a couple of trips round the West Indies courtesy of MOD and, while it is lovely to travel, we have more than enough to occupy us in The British Isles.
