Kiwi (New Zealander). Male just turned 60. Married. Complete left leg amputee at hip and pelvis, correct term is 'hemipelvectomy' - as a result of my near-death motorcycle accident in 1990 at the age of 26. I am a qualified truck mechanic by trade and I was a successful sportsman both as an able and disabled athlete from 1976 to 1998 (22 years). I became the World's Fastest A.K.A. (above knee amputee) over the Marathon in 1994 using crutches on one leg - my time 5 Hours 58 Minutes 13 Seconds stood unbeaten for 19 years. I mainly ambulate on my brand new prosthesis (2018) when appropriate and elbow crutches on my good right leg when wanting speed. All my photography is taken on one leg! With assistance from crutches and my humble assistant; my beautiful wife Vicki. I mainly shoot car, motorcycle, and truck shows, as American & Australian muscle and pony cars is a huge interest of mine. Having just said that I absolutely adore the great outdoors especially here in New Zealand and there is nothing more satisfying than awesome landscape captures. I am passionate about capturing beach sunsets as it is a spiritual experience for me. I feel so energized capturing them. I believe I owe my interest in amateur photography hobby to my father who was an owner/managing director of his printing business for around 36 years. His business used Multilith 1250 Off-Set printing presses all that time. He became renowned in New Zealand as the most knowledgeable resource about them and shared it willingly to anyone with the same keen interest. I love music, seafood, reading and travel.
