Hi,

My name is Eddie.

I live in Teignmouth and count myself fortunate to have grown up in such a beautiful area surrounded by stunning scenery..

My photo stream is as much about where I've been as it is about where I am. Amongst the railway pictures are glimpses into who I am who are the important people in my world and what I have done with my life.

Why Stapleton Road ? Well...as a lad and a keen trainspotter, my cohort and traveling companion was called Lawrence Hill. We were pretty much always seen together so we became known as Lawrence Hill and Stapleton Road.

For those who are still non the wiser...Lawrence Hill is a station in the suburbs of Bristol whose neighbouring station is Stapleton Road.

I naturally evolved into railway photography, I started as a train spotter on Teignmouth and Newton Abbot stations during the hydraulic era with the occasional trip further afield. This progressed into travelling behind the locos and thus exploring pretty much the whole network. I loved those Class 50s. Work family mortgage slowed things down but i did manage to spend 5 years doing some video work during the late 80s and early 90s. View my You Tube site by following the link.

Just when i had resigned myself to spending my days viewing my old shots my good friend Richard Burgess (Richie B) introduced me to Flickr and there i was , off and running again. Its a great platform to share our pictures but above all

I really welcome peoples comments.

I was first drawn to Eddie's stream when I saw some pictures of the beautiful coastal town of Teignmouth, and what a tremendous collection of images I found. I really enjoy the fantastic mix of highly creative images, mixed with absolute gems from the past. One of the things that I really like about Eddie's stream is his willingness to try something completely different, the results are always stunning. If there's one (small) criticism I would make it would be that he sometimes doesn't realise just how fantastic and creative his images are, but that's part of the journey of following his stream. As a friend, he is always extremely generous in his encouragement, certainly the most moving comments I've received on my own stream have come from Eddie. It's not all serious though, a good bit leg pulling always brings a smile! Fantastic stream, top gentleman.
