I have been taking pictures for 40 years, mostly family, my children's sports, then senior pictures and weddings. Lots of fun. I presently use a Canon 60D with L zoom lenses. I would like to swiitch or rent an EOS 1D-S Mark III or an EOS 5d Mark II and several of the primary lenses because I was astounded by the clarity that I have seen on some Flickr pictures taken with them.
I use KodakGallery.com to share family pictures with family, and I use PhotoReflect.com to display, sell, and print wedding and group and family photo shoots. Star Photo in Anderson, IN prints better than any lab that I have tested, and one can use them remotely via the internet.
My daughter introduced me to Flickr because I could create a full-screen slide show (that starts automatically) by establishing a set of pictures on Flickr. For example, if you go to www.flickr.com/photos/35662517@N02/sets/72157622931361923... , you see a slideshow of a home that was purchased at sheriff's sale (mortgage foreclosure), was remodeled, included one full bathroom, four bedrooms, no garage, a new rear deck overlooking a large fenced-in back-yard, new attic insulation, a new Franklin stove for supplemental heating, central air, a to-die-for kitchen, and sold for $59,000 US$. Homes are very affordable in Indy! Thank you Flickr for the nice feature.
I represent buyers and sellers of homes and commercial property in Indianapolis and also buy and remodel homes for re-sale. Another example of a remodel slide show can be seen at www.flickr.com/photos/35662517@N02/sets/72157622025501165... . This condominium (the homeowners' association handles roof and siding replacement, snow, and lawn care) is inside the beltway, has 1.5 baths, 2 bedrooms, no garage, a great school system, on a 60 foot deep lake (former stone quarry), featuring fresh paint throughout, new light fixtures and appliances, laminate flooring, re-built rear deck. It sold for $107,000 USD and has monthly homeowner's fees of $200.
I favorite a lot of pictures because I enjoy doing it; because it is a fun, fast, and affordable way to travel the world; and because I would like to use the gallery feature. Some galleries are just breathtaking. I don't know a better way to build a gallery than to accumulate a large group of pictures from which to create the galleries. Some of the galleries will be for pictures that appeal to me, and some of them will be for discussion purposes with my young grandchildren. If you too like looking at interesting pictures, see Big Huge Labs' Random Photo Browser at bighugelabs.com/random.php . It pulls up six random pictures chosen by various people as favorites.
