I don't get out into the woods and rural areas as much as I would like, but when I do, I often find myself thinking of Missy Prince's work. I love her stream because it offers a little escape from the city. She has a marvelous way of capturing things in a simple and clean way. The images feel very natural, but they have a mystical quality as well. Her images don't over dramatize the rural environment that she captures and they are not overly romantic. These images simply bring the viewer down to earth. I didn't see it right away, but viewing her images again and again, I always come away with a basic sense of joy in the simple beauty of this county. It's just a treat to see these images and feel as though I'm walking along a country road, enjoying the moment and also looking forward to what I may see if I walk a little futher along.
