I bought my little Canon IXUS 980 IS in Feb 2009, so it's coming up to 3 years old. In that time, I have taken over 40,000 snaps. Yes, I know, that's far too many, but I do edit them and probably discard 9 out of 10 pix.

Capturing images is a bit of a compulsion with me, and I almost never step out of my house without my little IXUS. Usually it's stuffed down my bra, out of sight but easy to access. As I wander about, I keep seeing things that I want to remember; I'm particularly fond of strange juxtapositions and humorous situations, graffiti (which is rather hypocritical of me since I disapprove of it too, especially the boring tags that teenagers spread all over our little town).

I'm grateful to digital photography, as it allows me to take halfway decent pix, for I am almost illiterate when it comes to the science bit. Over the years, I have learnt to use my camera's quirks to capture pictures in difficult situations. I know that if I want to improve, I will one day have learn all about f-stops and all that scientific stuff.

Meanwhile, I keep on snapping.
