I am a sports photographer that got into photography by accident. I had Coached youth sports (Football, Basketball, Baseball, Softball.) for several years. I was injured and ended up having two back surgeries and wasn't able to Coach for a couple years. During that time I couldn't stand just being in the stands, so I started trying to think of something I could do. I ended up starting to write articles for youth football for the local newspaper, before long I wanted to add photography to it. I bought a fuji finepix 3.2 pixel with 6x zoom and went at it. Using that little cheap camera for over two years really taught me alot, dispite being a point and shoot. Besides learning about the camera (what was ISO, shutterspeed, DOF, etc), I had to learn to be very steady and creative to get a decent shot with that camera, especially inside or in low light! Anyways, I was hooked! I had always loved sports, helping my kids (which are my three children which I love verymuch, and all the others that I have coached and watched grow-up.), and now photography. I put the three together and started a website that covers youth and High School sports in our small town. Though I still have alot of pain and trouble from my back, I hope to soon begin a Sports and Event Portrait and Action Photography business, that I can someday turn into a profitable business. I have began selling game action photos, and some portraits. I have shot for the Knoxville Knights semi pro football team and have did the basketball program photos four years for a local high school. As of now I cover mostly Youth & High School sports, but my goal would to be on a College or Pro sideline! For now I will be happy to just pay a few of my expenses for the website, get some new equiptment, and get my name out there. It has cost alot more money and time than most people realize to do this for the last few years, but in the end, it's for the kids, and thats what keeps the website going. I have also began to appreciate photography for more than just sports. I enjoy nature photography, fireworks, portrait, and can't wait to get into macro.
