“Looking for the light through the pouring rain”. I didn’t make up that phrase myself but living in the North West of England, it sums up nicely the challenges getting great images in this part of the world, not far from Manchester, England where rain was invented.
My father was passionate about photography so it’s been a part of my whole life. My own photography journey started in 1985 when I decided to buy my first SLR, an Olympus OM10. My 'thing' at that time was motorsport and I moved to Minolta in 1989 to take advantage of their autofocus system, then their digital SLR based on the fact I had several lenses. Following the demise of Minolta I opted for a Canon 5d in 2007 and I’ve stuck with Canon since then.
As well as generating new photos on my travels I’ve retained my digital images going back nearly 20 years which I’m working though so if my uploads seem random, that's probably why.
I’ve had content on Flickr for over a decade without taking it seriously and i've no idea why I originally signed up. However, with the benefit of more available time I’m pushing myself to create decent images rather than just snaps.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. All your feedback is very welcome and also inspiring.
