I learned the basics of photography for my internet business, and after several years of photographing all types of objects, I realized I was kind of good at it.

In the past year, it has become a hobby.

I joined Flickr to organzie my photos, but I have come to really love and appreciate the breath-taking work of my fellow photographers. So many of the photos on this site are mind blowing. It has challenged and inspired me to improve my own work and expand my eye. I feel I am at the beginning with my photos.

For years, I shot with a point and shoot Sony. This past Christmas, my dad gave me a Nikon D90 setup, and I still haven't learned all the features!

I love light photography, portraits, and night photography. I do a ton of nature shots because I live in the Berkshires in Massachusetts which is one of the most gorgeous places on earth.

I only very very rarely alter my photos beyond a crop and a small light adjustment, if at all. Most of the effects achieved are from manual adjustment of camera settings, not photoshop. I do this not of snobbery against photoshop, but it has helped me learn how to achieve different effects with the camera and I think that tact has helped me improve my photographs on a daily basis.

I love flickr and I love the beautiful work of the many thousands of incredible photographers on the site.
