Background - I grew up in Lackford and Culford (both north of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk) and started my London life north of the river in Brondesbury.

Home - I now live with my wife, son and daughter in south London on a street where everyone knows each other (how unusual is that?);

INTERESTS:

Hidden places - finding ancient bits of cities and places that have faded away;

Old maps - atlases, city plans, Ordnance Survey and anything that's pleasing on the eye;

Family history - Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire, London;

Photography - I've been interested in taking decent pictures for the last 20 years but haven't ever got the hang of it. I'm forcing myself to do better by opening this Flickr account.
