I see myself primarily as a birder, but being a photographer is also a part of my identity. I have birded in various parts of the country in my quest to see and photograph more birds. I also am president and a trip leader for the Northern Virginia Bird Club. In addition to building a life list of the birds that I have seen, I also keep a photo list. So far I have photographed 565 bird species in North America. It's not just birds though. I will take a picture of whatever I find interesting in the natural world.
