My mother in Japan passed away peacefully in May 2015. Many things happened especially since 2010 and I was on a hiatus mode for a long time. Now I finally started moving forward for myself. I started going back to the college. Yes, I am a college student again now. :) Also I finally got a new Mac air and a new camera. ! I hope I could take more photos and could spend more time on flicker!
I used to share this account with my daughter (now 15 years old.) but not anymore. She is a high school student, playing saxophone and also dancing at a local dance company as a company dancer. :)
I had joined Flickr, Jan 2009 for helping my daughter's school project. However, after she finished her school project, I stopped using Flickr for a while. In May 2009, I purchased a new camera for my daughter's ballet recital. I started taking photos in our backyard for practicing my new camera. Then I learned that photography is wonderful. I did not pay much attention to the wildflowers or tiny insects, weathers and seasons. Every day, every moment, I discover something new, something beautiful. I come to realize that all the creatures on earth are beautiful! It was an eye opening for me. Every time, when I take a photo, I can see the beautiy of nature through the lens, I feel the existance of God. A moment feels like eternity. I become humble and feel thankful. I feel great joy taking photos. I am glad that I am alive.
My native language is Japanese but since I have been living in U.S.A. for more than 15 years, I am already loosing some Japanese. I am still not so good at English but I rather feel comfortable reading and writing in English. I have Flickr friends who mainly use Spanish, French, Italian and other languages... When I have time, I try to read their discriptions and comment sin their native language using online translator. When I do not have time I just fave their photos or commented in English.
My first collaboration with my Flickr friend, Katrin Ray.
Thank you for your kindness and friendship.

Being a contact of Lika's is like going on a journey. You start off just looking at the beautiful flowers she grows, or that she finds in her neighbourhood. Then she leads you gently through the world of exotic fruits and vegetables, and the gradually you look closer, into the heart of the flowers, or under the leaves, where a whole world waits to be discovered - the lives of all the little bugs and spiders that inhabit these plants, the patterns made by the flowers or foliage, or droplets gleaming after rain. Everything is beautifully photographed, usually identified and named too. Thank you for such a lovely journey of discovery, Lika. I always look forward to new uploads from you!
