Perplexingly, at 4:37 a.m. PST this morning, the world unexpectedly ended. It was immediately replaced by one almost exactly the same, but with one sock missing. Most people didn't even notice.

5 came too soon, following closely on the heels of 4, which had slowly crumbled, when after practicing for days for the test to get my first library card - I broke, all alone before the librarian's stern, hurry-up gaze, unable to remember how to write my name, a task I had performed flawlessly at home, this when I had barely recovered from 3, at which time I learned my career path would not be of my choosing, having been told that I could not be a fire truck!? No reason was given. I don't remember much of 2, except the crows.
