Dr. Steinsapir is a highly trained eye plastic surgeon. He trained with the inventor of BOTOX®. Since 1988 he has performed thousands of BOTOX® treatments. He observed directly how these treatments affect the muscles of facial expression and as a result learned that many of the standard ways BOTOX® treatments are performed don’t lead to the best-looking results. The problem is that these treatments don’t always restore the right balance to the muscles that determine eyebrow position. This can lead to a fall in the eyebrow position and forehead “freeze.”

MICRODROPLET™ BOTOX®

The position of the eyebrow is determined by a tug of war between the muscles that elevate the eyebrows and those that pull the eyebrows down. Using microdroplet injections of BOTOX® in sufficient numbers, the eyebrow depressors are released. This elevates the eyebrows and softens the pinch at the brow. Since the eyebrow elevators don’t have to work so hard, the lines in the forehead are reduced without a hint of paralysis. The method is so innovative that it is patent pending. While all BOTOX® treatments are temporary, the effects can last 4 to 6 months. The procedure is very comfortable with virtually no downtime. Dr. Steinsapir's training is in both oculofacial and cosmetic surgery. He attended medical school and internship at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Following this, he trained in ophthalmology at The University of Chicago, which has a very strong tradition of eye plastic surgery. He went on to complete a two-year fellowship in orbital surgery and research at UCLA's Jules Stein Eye Institute followed by a one-year fellowship in oculofacial plastic surgery also at the Jules Stein Eye Institute. UCLA is widely recognized as having one of the best oculofacial plastic surgery fellowships in the country with very strong training in cosmetic and restorative surgery. After this he completed two more years of fellowship training in cosmetic surgery with a well-known cosmetic surgeon in Rancho Mirage. The discipline of microsurgery from ophthalmology as well as detailed knowledge of how to take care of the eye, the most precious facial structure, has been invaluable training, creating the basis for one of the premier practices of oculofacial and cosmetic surgery in the country.
