Starting all over again - in so many ways. Hope to remember who I am with a camera in my hand. No need to describe myself here. You'll find me in my photostream - in what I shoot and what I write. : )

Thanks for taking the time to look at my photography. If you have time to comment, that's great - if not, I completely understand! My flickr time is very limited these days, so I prefer to keep my contact list fairly small. I want to be able to really follow the friends I already have here. If you make me a contact and I don't reciprocate, it doesn't mean I didn't look at and appreciate what you're shooting, it just means that I simply can't keep up these days. Hope you understand. : )

A sincere thank you to all my wonderful, amazingly talented flickr pals! You have inspired me, encouraged me, educated me, motivated me, and wrapped your arms around me through some pretty tough times. You make me ooh and ahh and smile and laugh every single day - and sometimes you move me to tears, because you're just that good at what you do. Can't imagine better friends anywhere - I love you guys! : )

Shari is one of the true lights of Flickr and is one of the reasons I still come here to look at photos. Her photos speak to me in a way few others do. Her photos capture the spirit of everything that made America great. The descriptions are poetic and often contain bits of great verse, weather it be an actual poem a line or two of a song or just Shari's own thoughts on the subject. You find yourself nodding because she speaks exactly what you were thinking when you first looked at the photo. If you are just discovering Shari's photo stream click that follow button dive in and take a good, long look around, you will be glad you did. We love you Shari, keep letting your spirit soar through your photography.

I have been following Shari’s work for several years now, Her portrait of the crumbling core of America’s small town is second to none. Please take the time to examine her work and get a feel for what we as small town folks see happening all around us everyday.

Shari is an awesome Flickr friend, there's really not many like her! She captures scenes from the places that I (and certainly many others) wish we could visit, and she does it with amazing skill! She takes it over the top when she includes her unique descriptions, sometimes quoting poetry or lyrics, which are always poignant and thought provoking, and sometimes she includes historic factual tidbits to feed our minds with. She presents plenty of hidden gems from small-town America, it's always a wonderful trip through her photostream. Her knowledge and love for all things railroad can be contagious too, so be careful, you have been warned!

Just when I think I've been fully amazed by something Shari has posted, she does it again, and again, and again! Shari has "that photogenic eye", she knows the look she's going for and knows how to achieve it. Her railroad and landscape shots are fantastic. Keep up the good work!

Shari is capturing through the camera's lens bits and pieces of Americana that are quickly slipping away. Small town wonderment and good old American pride in industry, farming, and railroading. No high brow shots, but images we all understand and appreciate like she does. Simple, yet poignant, a Grant Wood with a digital camera. She has inspired many of us to see things in a different light, and to that end, we thank her. Keep going Shari, the horizons are limitless.

Shari and Her Photostream are a National, not just a Regional treasure. Her tireless work chronicles the spirit and soul of the Midwest. Alas, it also documents it's disappearance. The disappearance of a simpler and more honest time. We all owe her a debt of gratitude for using her Artistic vision and love of the Midwest to document the regions beauty and honest simplicity. Simple complexity. Hows that for a Photography assignment. But Shari does it effortlessly with a keen eye for detail and an ability to see behind the obvious. We all thank you.

Shari is new to me here, a fellow Hawkeye. Sorry I didn't find her sooner with her sense of Ooh and Ahh and Wonder at our little bit of Midwestern Americana. She has an excellent sense of style and composition and the enviable knack of locating just the right thing to illustrate what we are so quickly losing in this country, a sense of place and time and community. Shari's documentation of that fleeting time, when neighbors knew each other, folks waved at passing cars, at least provides a nostalgic touchstone of times long past and days long lost.
