Person interested in bringing out the best in humans that seems to be coming forward in our common global digital camera mania.

 

Will sponsor small freindly competitions and contests in some categories, just to have some common goal and incentives and some fun.

 

Two contests so far are for best Kempe stained glass in 2009 and for best stained glass in 2009.

 

Just trying to have a fun incentive for people to keep honing their photo skills. All contest are not company or corporate sponsored at all, and no images will be reproduced or sold or made available for any commercial purpose whatsoever.

 

Contest is democratic, volunteer, winner is based on votes from other people who enter.

Has to be at least 25 pictures throughout the 2009 year, as many entries as you want.

 

Yes you can vote for yourself.

 

Criteria is best overall color, sharpness, balance between shadows or lack of and highlite blow outs or lack of, clarity, focus etc, no specfic theme.

 

HDR is ok, and so are photoshop post processing but contest criteria is closest tostained glass window quality not creative special effects or personalization.

 

Also entries should include camera types and settings.

 

This is meant to just be a focal point so at the end of the year we can have a best digital photo holiday event that everyone can look forward to, just meant to be a fun incentive.

 

I dont think the Chris Bellia annual best digital photo academy award is where this is headed at all

 

Prize wont let you retire in luxury.. just about $250.00.

 

Better than nothing and enough to get a portable 500 gigabyte drive for images and 2 32 gig cards.

 

The contest is meant to increase fun and photo taking not to make you rich. I think I am the only person doing this just to try to bring out the best in people by having a creative photo competition.

 

But it must be an agreement that the winner successfully executed at least 25 high quality pictures in the specfic category. We dont want one shot wonders.

 

Also it is not from a purist perspective, it is the final image, so if you need to Photoshop tweak it or image edit it thats ok, it is the final image that matters.

 

It is also meant to capture and globalize the incredible skill that is inherent in the art of stained glass, a medium that may be in a huge number of global local churches, that may not be on everyones travel or vacation list...so lets call it the first Global Virtual church contest, a non denominational virtual area with no window size or quantity limitations or country limitations.

 

So click away, those that can see stained glass as the true window to something creative and great beyond just us will get this even if they dont have a religious bone in their body...all you have to do is catch the light coming through one time, and either you get it or you dont.
