I've been playing around with cheap or disposable cameras since I was 7 or 8, but my fourth camera (A Nikon Coolpix P90 that my parents bought me in early 2009) really got me thinking about the pictures I was taking. The amount of control it gave me, pushed me to learn more about photography.
I got my current camera (my first DSLR) on November 15th, 2011. I had been saving up for a Nikon D7000 since January and was able to pay for half of it; my parents took care of the rest and called it my early Christmas present.
I'm 21 now, and I still have a LOT to learn about photography. It may only end up being a hobby, but, for now, I'm enjoying the journey, wherever it leads. :)
