Grumpy old frog

I have been working on the MMPND since 1985 and running it online since 1995. This is my passion number 1. I was hoping to carry on this work until 2020, but all was interrupted 10 years earlier due to funding cuts and general disturbances in the academic world. The idea was that by 2020 the M.M.P.N.D. should have been the ultimate online reference for plant names of most kinds, mostly limited to so called "economic plants", although it is almost impossible to treat a useful plant while ignoring all the closely related wild species. Flickr still offers many possibilities towards complementing this work in the future. It has been a delight to meet so many fans of the MMPND on flickr. Unfortunately this long interruption has broken many bridges. Let us hope we can rebuild those links as well as updating the technical details.
