As a youngster I always enjoyed taking photos. I still have many of the photos I took with my parents Kodak plastic whatever.
I started working in photography in 1978 at one of the first 1-hour photoshops (60 Minute Photo which used Noritzu machines) to open in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I then opened a dark room and printed enlargements for 60 Minute Photo since they didn't have the capibilities at the time.
After attending college at Tarrant County University, University of Texas Arlington and graduating at Pan American University (now University of Texas Pan American) in 1985 I went to work for KGBT TV in Harlingen Texas. Aside from printing enlargements, including 30x40 Duratrans and Positrans, at Chroma Copy upon moving to Houston I have been working in the television industry as a sports cameraman until the present.
I still take photos as a hobby and to document my kids sporting events. After finally going digital this past year I am finding a rejuvinated desire to take photos simply for pleasure again without film and developing costs breaking the bank.
Recently my oldest daughter has gotten the photography bug. Her incredible enthusiasm and unbelieveable work has also inspired me to keep shooting when possible. Its a connection that goes beyond a photograph!
