I'm an American citizen, proud of my country and its heritage. I enlisted in the United States Army in 2003, following two years of as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Long Beach, California. I'm a non-commissioned officer; leading soldiers is the most satisfying part of my life, apart from my family and church service. I'm also a husband and father. Amanda and I married for eternity in 2004 in the Salt Lake Temple and I love her more than life. We have a beautiful and way too smart 2-year daughter. We watch Lost, go for afternoon runs, blog, cook, and have a lot of fun together.

My politics are nuanced and complicated. Though I'm not tied tightly to any particular ideology or party, I am a true believer in the United States Consitution. SGTDANGER.COM is not designed for politics, but I can't promise my views will never shine through. But know this: I will always be loyal to my oath of enlistment and to those with whom I serve.

SGTDANGER.COM is personally operated to provide readers with a little bit of insight on what it's like to be an Army reservist deployed overseas. The content of this site does not represent the United States Government, the U.S. Department of Defense, or the United States Army. Operational security is the highest priority. I will not compromise the safety and security of my comrades or our mission.

What you find here will not always be neat, tidy, consistent, or even coherent... but it's me.

Enjoy.
