I appreciate good photos. Of both places familiar and those I'll probably never visit. My first subpar attempts at photography pushed me to try and improve. I bought a well-used Olympus E-500 (my first DSLR!) early in 2008 and have been attempting to learn how to use it since. A basic course would of been a good idea. Probably still make sense. LOL.

One of the main reasons I joined Flickr was to glean from, and be inspired by, the talents of others. Thanks to all for sharing!

My passion is being outdoors and especially up in the mountains. Hopefully I can share a piece of it here.

EDIT: 2009 spring - upgraded to an Olympus E3. Now starting to use RAW for most shots. This summer I started trying long exposures of water. What an enjoyable way to spend some time. I'm really pleased to see so many people enjoying my photostream. I like receiving feedback, constructive comments are always welcome. Enjoy :-)

EDIT: 2010 autumn - b&w landscapes have begun to interest me.

EDIT: late 2012 - I am now the proud owner of a Nikon D600 and am starting to acquire Nikon glass…

EDIT: early 2014, gotta make this a year of getting back INTO the mountains more!!

An exceptionally talented photographer, Chris's appreciation for British Columbia's back country are clearly shown in his photography. A natural. He has that rare ability of capturing, what I like to call, "magic light". On top of all of this, he is also skilled at the technical side of photography. He routinely composes images with interesting foreground, wonderful light and great depth. Keep up the great work Chis ! It's a pleasure to view your stream.
