Photography is his passion. Journalism is his obsession.

Meet D Ravinder Reddy,a perfect example for a photojournalist

A post-graduate in English Literature, Ravinder was attracted towards photography right from his childhood days. This basic

instinct to frame anything that catches the attention of his eye in his camera gradually developed into a passion during the college days, when he developed his own laboratory in his study room.

His inherent talents were identified and catalysed by

his professor L S Sharma during his post-graduation at Ujjain

On his advice, Ravinder Reddy did his Diploma in Photography

at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University,Hyderabad.Even

as he was pursuing his studies, he used to freelance for

various national and local newspapers & magazines such as

Indian Express,Newstime,Deccan Chronicle,Sunday,The Week India Today & Magna Publications, by contributing a number

of human interesting photographs.

His journalistic instincts widened the horizons of his photographic skills and within no time, he gained prominence

as a successful photojournalist in Andhra Pradesh. His dashing

& enterprising nature helped him click some unique & exclusive pictures and earn a pride place in the field. The pictures of dreaded naxalite leader Kondapalli Seetharamaiah, the demolite of Babri Masjid in 1992, the devastating earthquake at Latur in Maharashtra and the fury of cyclone in the coastal Andhra Pradesh are only to mention a few to explain his skills.

The rare photograph on the demolition of Babri Masjid at Ayodhya, published on the cover page of Time International, brought him into the interational limelight.Since then,he never looked back.Besides being the personal photographer for Chief

Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, Ravinder Reddy made a

significant contribution to Andhra Pradesh tourism industry through his breathtaking pictures. He is intensely striving to

project Andhra Pradesh as a tourist destination through his works .His favourite subject is rural life. And his photographs

speak volumes about his passion.

child labour. That he choose the subject -- Girl in India, An

unwanted child -- as his subject for obtaining his diploma in photography itself shows his commitment towards the society

At present he is based at Hyderabad & actively contributing
