Hi!

I'm Dorrie. Born and raised in Northern California, I'm a farm kid at heart, living in the city. I'm a mom to four amazing adult children; and to one who watches over us from Heaven. I work in education, at the local community college. Exercise is a huge part of my world, I love hiking the trails of NorCal, strength training, and a good game of pace tag! I am a lover of sunshine, and will choose to "play" outside 99% of the time.

Sewing is truly my therapy-it's my outlet-forces me to slow down, to create something with my hands and my heart. From a very early age, sitting near my mom at the sewing machine, stitching has always been a part of who I am. I was fortunate to have been educated during a time when home economics was alive and well in public schools. I took sewing every semester–one hour every day was spent in the sewing lab! Not going to lie, it was pretty amazing. I sew everything–quilts, bags, clothing, pillows–the list goes on! I enjoy teaching the craft, I love sharing with others, and witnessing their creative endeavors. I belong to a small modern quilt group, Sewmates, an amazing group of women who are also some of my dearest friends.
