I love to travel (especially to Greece), visit National Trust properties and gardens. Photography, for me, is part of building up memories of where I've been and what I've done, even if the image is sometimes less than perfect. I am always trying to improve my skills to make these images more artistic.

Update March 2025:

Since my last update, I have upgraded first to an OM-1 and now to the Mark II version, which I am very pleased with - especially the AI bird and animal recognition. After some periods of ill- health (not covid related) me and my hubby are (fingers-crossed) now well and determined to get out and about, making up for lost time and enjoying our photography hobby in our retirement.

Update February 2021:

My Olympus EM1 Mark II was replaced by a Mark III, shortly after it's release in 2020. Following that I also acquired a couple of Olympus lenses - the 12-100 f4 and the 100-400, which I am very pleased with and help me get the best out of the camera. Since my move to Glossop in September 2018, I have done a lot of landscape photography, whilst exploring my new local area - especially during the periods of covid lockdown, when it's not been possible to explore further.

Update May 2017:

Late last year, I took the decision to move from the Panasonic GH4 to an Olympus EM1 Mark II, in the hope that the phase detection and promised faster focusing and tracking would be better for wildlife photography. After 6 months of use and an initial steep learning curve I can say that I'm happy with that decision. Other than the 60mm Olympus macro lens, I still use mainly Panasonic lenses (and in particular the 100-400mm telephoto) and currently have no plans to change that. I know that the kit is more than capable and continue to learn and attempt to hone my skills in wildlife photography, in particular.

Updated, December 2015:

In March 2009 I bought a Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 , to replace my Canon Powershot G9 in an attempt to learn more about photography. Over the years since, I have upgraded my camera and added a collection of lenses. I am currently using a Panasonic GH4. I still enjoy a wide variety of photographic subjects but since the addition of a telephoto lens, have become increasingly interested in wildlife photography.

Please do not use any of my pictures for any reason, without first asking my permission. I'm usually more than happy to allow use for non-commercial use, if asked first.

I have to add my kudos for your work. It so inspires me! The image quality that you're working on is at present enviable and I wonder just how much better it can get! I will continue to watch for new images and restudy old ones since I have so much to learn from them. Thank you for your Flickr presence!
