Through the years I have been an avid outdoor person with hobbies including canoeing, fishing, wildlife viewing and mycology (the study of mushrooms). I have lived in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and now Oregon (28 years). I have had the opportunity to visit all fifty states.

Since the age of nine, when I got my first “Brownie Hawkeye”, I have always been interested in photography. During the past 30 years, my photography choice has been to shoot Kodachrome slides using Pentax equipment.

In 2006 Pentax came out with their first digital camera body, which accepts all the old Pentax lenses. Even with a small freezer full of film, there is no going back! (I am digitizing some of the old slide images with a film scanner.)
