ADDENDUM: To All Of Clive's and My Flickr Friends, I would like to add that my husband Clive passed away in September 7, 2013. I will miss him yet it is comforting for me to know that he is in a much better place right now for we believe that God is in control and He knows best. It is my great joy and privilege to take continue posting on his site, for I know this will make him happy. Many thanks for your continued support and encouragement. With gratitude from Rosey

Welcome to my Flickr Site. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your tour.

I am married to Rosey, a lovely Filipina lady and she is now with me in Australia.

I have been a photographer for over 50 years now, starting off with a Box Brownie camera, then a folding Kodak Camera. I then “took over” my late Dad’s trusty Zeiss Ikon 35mm film camera and my photography took off. I did a lot of caving in Tasmania (where I was born) for the next 20 or so years, using slide film mainly (brands were Kodak, Afga mainly). I then upgraded to my own camera, 35mm reflex camera, a Miranda. Unfortunately this was stolen and I replaced this with a Pentax S1a, manual, no light meter. I bought a Weston Master V light meter and this proved to be very effective in reading my lighting, both behind and in front of the camera. This camera I still have to this day although I do not use it any more, it does remind me of that special time in my life.

My first flash gun used blue magnesium bulbs which had to be loaded into a reflector that contained batteries. These would go off with a pop and that magnesium smell, then replace that used bulb with another one, waiting for a few seconds for it to cool down.

I then bought a dedicated flash for my camera. I did a lot of caving in this time and this meant wrapping my gear up in plastic to prevent it from getting wet down the caves. Cave photography is very slow and tedious but also very enjoyable. Each picture would take around a ½ hour to set up and often multiple flashes were used to illuminate a big cavern, which meant putting the lens cap on and my assistant moving to the next flash location, me taking off the lens hood, POW would go the flash and the procedure repeated depending on the number of flashes required!!!!

My next camera was a Pentax SE and I swapped this after a couple of years for a Pentax MX body. I had two Sigma lenses – 28-80mm and 75-250mm zooms and they were great lenses. Still going with slides or maybe prints occasionally. Then I gave away the big stuff and bought a little Panasonic point and shoot, an amazing little zoom camera and shot mainly prints then!!

Then I entered the world of digital photography thanks to my sons purchasing me a Canon a530, then a Canon S80, then the camera I have now (which I purchased) – a Canon Powershot SX20 IS. What a magnificent camera this one is, has incredible telephoto ability, the image stabilisation means I can shoot at the max and not get camera shake, an amazing advance on the old tele system.

I am a 69-year-old Australian male married to Rosey, my gorgeous Filipino wife. My present camera is a Canon Powershot SX20 IS, which I have only just recently purchased. It is a great little camera, very versatile with a 28mm-560mm zoom range. It is a bit bigger than the point and shoot and I cannot fit this camera into my pocket like the two previous cameras I had, the Canon Powershot A530 and Canon Powershot S80. For me I really like Canon and their layout. The SX20 has a flip screen which I find very useful or a viewfinder which I find necessary sometimes when outside shooting.

My past cameras have been Box Brownie, Kodak Folding Camera, Pentax ME Super and Pentax MX fitted with Sigma 28-80 and 75-250 lenses. I am glad I have the super zoom now as I have all these lenses and more power in the one camera.

Note from Rosey: This is a difficult time to announce to you, all of his flickr friends. Clive died and now in the presence of His Maker

January 18, 1942 to September 7, 2013

Digital photography has revolutionised my life!!!!!!!

I have made many new and endearing friends on Flickr and the list is growing daily. Thank you one and all for your input into my life and the joy you bring me by sharing your photographs and my joy is sharing mine.

Both Rosey and I are devout Christians (Baptists) and we attend the Crusade Family Church now in Leeton, New South Wales, having arrived here to do a house-sit and staying because we loved the place so much. We now have our own unit, although at present we are house-sitting a 50-acre orange orchard just out of town. We do lead a very adventurous life I think and with God’s blessing we hope to continue to live a life for Him in victory!!!

May God continue to bless you all. Thank you for your visit.

Clive and Rosey Morris.
