I joined Flickr in 2008 to showcase the approximately 150 waterfalls and cascades located in Hamilton Canada (where I live). The reason for so many waterfalls in an urban setting is due to the Niagara Escarpment which runs through the entire length of Hamilton. All the creeks and storm water pipes and channels from the top of the escarpment flow over the escarpment rock face to the lower portion of the city, resulting in so many waterfalls and cascades.

I have completed uploading at least one photo from each of approximately 1,400 visits (half of which were on 35mm film) to these natural beauties over the past three decades and in all four seasons, to show their changes, both natural and man made. They can be seen in over 50 different waterfall albums.

In 1970 I was working as a Professional Engineer for Ontario Hydro and was asked to take some aerial pictures of various Ontario Hydro power plants where I was doing environmental studies. They gave me a camera and told me to rent a small airplane with pilot to take the pictures. With no additional instructions, I taught myself how to take aerial pictures. After joining the City of Burlington in their Engineering Department in 1974 I was able to use my aerial photography skills and began taking aerial pictures of most of Burlington's construction projects and development planning areas. Now whenever I travel by airplane, I try for a window seat and take as many aerial pictures as possible.

In addition, I like to travel and take pictures, and I had uploaded a couple thousand of them onto Panoramio, however with their shutdown, I now am uploading them and many more photos from over 50 countries on six continents (only Africa has not been visited) onto flickr. They can be seen in the numerous province, state or country albums.

Lastly I enjoy taking pictures of almost everything that catches my eye, and also participating in several weekly photo challenges on Flickr.

I had about a hundred super8mm movie films from the 1970's and 1980's but had not been able to view them for the past 20 years as my projector was not working. I just had all of them digitized and uploaded to my computer, thus now I can view them. I have begun to select single frames from them and upload them as single photos to Flickr, but they are blurry as 8mm film is not good quality. but they do show life from a half century ago.

Hopefully you will enjoy some of my pictures.

Cheers from Hamilton Canada.
