A WARNING TO ALL WOULD-BE PHOTO THIEVES

ALL of my images are copyrighted. Use of any image, in any form, without my express, written permission is a breach of that copyright.

Should you be faving my shots, you had better have photos in your own stream, and/or information about yourself in your profile - if you don't, I will assume you are stealing my shots, and will firstly block you, secondly report you to Flickr's administrators and finally, I will advertise widely amongst the Fickr community what you are up to. BE WARNED!!!

Born in England, I emigrated to Australia in 1969 with my family (10 pound Poms as we were so affectionately known by the Aussies). As young as I was, I can still remember how I was terrified about having to learn a new language - silly me!

I initially lived in the sunny state of Queensland for the first 22 years of my new life, and have since moved to the more temperate state of Tasmania - the Island (or Apple) State.

Now heading into middle age, I am married with two kids (a pigeon pair).

My main source of income is as a Mental Health Nurse, which I have been doing for around 30 years now.

I have been into photography ever since my late teens, having been influenced by my fathers efforts at B&W photography - he used to develop his own stuff, which was always fascinating to me. I bought a few early, cheap SLR's (Praktika, Zenit[don't ask me why] and Pentax), before moving onto Nikons (FG-20 then FA), and finally switching over to digital when I purchased a D70, and later upgraded to the D300. I also owned a Pentax 645 medium format camera at one stage too.

My main interests are gig photography & landscape work, including urban landscapes, though I will try anything. My goals are to become more proficient in the use of the complexities of the digital darkroom, for whilst I think I can get composition and lighting right (most of the time), my abilities in Photoshop and the like are rather constrained to the more simple procedures such as Levels, Sharpening and Saturation. I would love to be much better at utilising layers, masks etc.

I am now, however, a keen advocate of Nikon Capture NX2, which has become an indispensible part of my workflow.

I have dabbled a little in HDR work, preferrring the subtler, more realistic results rather than the obvious "HDR" look which seems to be popular these days, though have now returned to more traditional "one-shot" shooting most of the time.

Testimonials

andrewfuller62 has a great eye for landscape photography. I love his compositions and colours. The images with a detailed foreground and cloudy background are stunning. I also like the compositions on the urban photographs. I am sure we'll see a lot of great artwork of andrewfuller62 on Flickr.
